Olmert, Livni Opposes Rice's Plan for UN Vote on PA Sta

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni have voiced opposition to a plan by outgoing United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to sponsor a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for the establishment of a new Arab state.

Israel Channel One television reporter Ayala Chasson reported that the government is concerned the proposed resolution will be slanted against Israel and that Secretary Rice wants it passed as a show of achievement before leaving office.

NBC news quoting two Obama advisors saying that Obama was considering Sen. Hillary Clinton for the position of Secretary of State. The Obama campaign did not immediately return a request for comment on whose motorcade preceded Obama's out of the underground garage beneath the Kluczynski Federal Building Thursday evening.
