Left, Good; Right Bad; Arabs Excused

One thing I feel jealousy over is the ability of those on the leftwing of the political spectrum not feel responsible nor even to be held responsible by the media for the outrageous behavior, at times, criminal, of those more extreme than themselves whereas those of the rightwing are always being forced to apologize for or be held responsible for the actions of those on the fringe.

An example:

While teenagers in Hebron or other communities are caught on film either throwing rocks at Arabs and their sympathizers or cursing soldiers, etc. - and I am not viewing their actions with sympathy or support - the very same type of activity by anarchists at a wall protest are either ignored or played down, rarely to be brought into media discussion.

And now, there's a new example.

As I noted previously:
The High Court of Justice has decided to approve a petition by Baruch Marzel's Jewish National Front party for the right to hold a Jewish Pride Parade and rally in the Lower Galilee Israeli Arab city of Umm el-Fahem, a stronghold of the radical Islamic Jihad movement. However, the ruling stipulates that the event be held after the city's municipal elections, which are scheduled for November 11, and that the marchers stay out of the center of town.

There was criticism galore. How could the court permit these 'fanatics' to cause such a disturbance? Don't they know they are causing a riot? Well, at least they won't be marching in the center of the town.

Well, read on what happened today, in the center of Jerusalem:

Hundreds of Arabs belonging to the Islamic Movement marched in Jerusalem Thursday afternoon to protest the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing construction of the Simon Wiesenthal Center's Museum of Tolerance in a downtown area once used as a Muslim cemetery. No violent incidents were reported, with dozens of police on hand.

I repeat:

Jerusalem Police said the protest passed off without incident.

See for yourselves:

So, if I understand the situation

a) the Arabs of Um El-Fahm are naturally expected to riot if a few Jews demonstrate Jewish pride and that violence is implicitly understood, if not supported by the left, liberal progressives.

b) Marzel, Ben-Gvir, etc., are thugs who are to be ostracized and their civil liberties restricted.

c) Hundreds of Arabs from East Jerusalem marched through downtown center Jerusalem and nothing happened despite solidarity chants for Hezbollah (which I heard while watching the TV report) and no one protests the irresponsible provocative behavior.

d) and I conclude that whatever the Left does is good and fine and the Arabs are justified in what they do or cause not to be done and that equality really doesn't exist for the Right.

Sort of like the US media's "reporting" on Obama from the moment he came into sight a few years ago.
As Victor Davis Hanson called it in a piece a few days ago, the "end of journalism" - all that's left is advocacy media.

I was shocked 8 years ago when the Left (here in Israel) and their dear leaders Peres and Beilin were not in any way called to account for what they had done to the country with Oslo, and how were never called out on their deception of the entire country.

There's no shock left anymore, in a country where democracy and rule of law have been reduced to the status of aging street whores.
