Obama Speaks But I Find It Hard To Comprehend

Obama yesterday:

On the Israeli side, that means a cessation of settlements. And there is a tendency to try to parse exactly what this means, but I think the parties on the ground understand that if you have a continuation of settlements that, in past agreements, have been categorized as illegal, that's going to be an impediment to progress...The United States will continue to try to be as honest as possible to all sides in this dispute to indicate the degree to which it's in everybody's interests to move in a new direction.

Parsing means to examine in a minute way, to analyze critically. I don't mind that.

Cessation/continuation. The act of Jewish settlement, that is, the return of Jews from their Exile, is a process almost 2600 old. From Babylon we returned. And from 70 countries around the world. Obama now wants to try a stop that?

And exactly what past agreement categorized the communities as "illegal"?

Why are they an impediment? What about Arab settlements in Israel?

If Obama wishes to be "honest", he need be "genuine" which means he must be "true". That really isn't that difficult.
