Did Lechi Act in Soviet Interests?

I found an interesting article entitled "A Cold War Casualty in Jerusalem, 1948: The Assassination of Witold Hulanicki", in the Israel Journal of Foreign Affairs, IV:3 2010.

It researches a Lechi killing of two Poles, one of whom was well-known to Yair Stern.

He points to a Soviet-Nationalist Polish rivalry and suggests the Lechi acted out of sympathy or otherwise for Soviet interests after receiving significant from Russia the previous year.

It can be viewed here.
