I Won't Be In The Int'l Herald Tribune's Opinion Column

I tried to submit an op-ed article to the International Herald Tribune. The subject was the upcoming Pal. state UDI.

It was/is topical. It comes from a viewpoint not seen on the pages of the paper (if ever).

Actually, I did submit it and tried to have it published.

I failed.

here's the reply:-

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for sending your article to the IHT. Unfortunately, however, the editors have been unable to find a place for it. We apologize that due to the large number of submissions, we are not able to respond in more detail. We look forward to reading any future submissions, and thank you for your interest in our pages.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Appel
Editorial Assistant
IHT Op-Ed Pages

They had just published, - IHT shares with the NYTimes - Yossi Alpher. Their own editorial. Jimmy Carter. Another one by Prince Turki al-Faisal, former director of Saudi Arabia’s intelligence services and a former Saudi ambassador to the United States. By David Makovsky. Regular Roger Cohen.

They had no room for me or was it my opinion?

Or was it my connections to the Yesha Council of Jewish communities.

UPDATE

The NYT now has a "discussion" up with these people:

Israel Is Not a Superpower
Ronen Bergman, analyst, Yedioth Ahronoth

A Referendum on Israel
Daniel Gordis, author, "Saving Israel"

Path of Least Instability
Shibley Telhami, University of Maryland

Israel's Fate Is Not on the Line
Aaron David Miller, Woodrow Wilson Center

A Bad Option, and a Better One
Rami Khouri, American University in Beirut

Dream vs. Nightmare
Dahlia Scheindlin. +972Mag

Two pro-Pal. Arabs; one pro-Clinton American Jew; one left-of-center Israeli; one right-of-center Israeli.

NYTimes' balance.

a Let's face it, you aren't smart enough. You are too small minded.
b You're a bigot
c The settlers don't have any popular support
d you alienate the advertisers and no newspaper can afford this

Why don't you write an op-ed on the benefits of asbestos ?

Mr Medad - Do not be discouraged!

Excrement always floats on the surface; whether it's "established" (like the media scum) or "anonymous" (like the poster of the first comment). However the deeper currents will have their way at the end. Truth cannot be stopped.

The IHT didn't publish any op-eds by the French settlers in Algeria in 1962.

Nobody is interested in dead ideologies.
