More Population Data of Binyamin District

I recently brought to your attention demographic data on Yesha.  I am waiting for its review as I am sure the numbers are a bit off.  Communities I know exist were not included - or were perhaps merged with others and in that case that needs to be noted.

Just before Pesach, the annual report for 2010-11 of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council (and some English) came into our mail boxes and I found there some more numbers:

- in this present school year, 5772/2011-12, almost 20,000 children are in our educational institutions, from nursery age until 18.

- there are 144 kindergartens in our district, of which 14 are for children with special needs.

- over the past two years, 25 of those kindergartens had been added with 11 being moved into permanent locations (that is, out of mobile caravans).

- the 2010 budget stood at 280,000,000 NIS; 2011 was 308,000.000 NIS.  Some 50% was earmarked for education.

The Regional Council deals with education, tourism and information, roads and traffic, community centers, sport, youth activities, social services, construction, security, business licencing, urban supervision (sanitation, environment), water infrastructures (17 water purifiers exist), garbage, veterinary services, and maintains a development company.

Some of our communities.
